SEN & Academic Support Maternity Cover

Union School is currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN support teacher to cover for a Maternity leave.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND policy.

  • Support the identification of children with special educational needs.

  • Maintain an up-to-date SEND register.

  • Prepare, in conjunction with class teachers, IEPs for children with SEND.

  • Co-ordinate provision for children with SEND.

  • Liaise with parents of children with SEND.

  • In conjunction with the class teachers oversee, organise & schedule EAL & FLE sessions.

  • Collaborate with specialist teachers to enhance the curriculum and learning experience of children.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive bilingual curriculum.

  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all children.

  • Assess children’s learning and development, and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, colleagues,

    and the wider community.

Requirements

  • A teaching qualification.

  • Experience of supporting children with SEN.

  • Native speaker with the ability to communicate both English & French.

  • A minimum of two years teaching experience.

  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and learning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
